For installing a multi media interface i need to dismantle most probely the ac control, radio control and / or nav screen. Does anyone have experience with this? I want to purchase a Xcarlink multimedia interface.

Hi,
I'll try to explain the order to do it with the attached photo. 1. the plastic part around the gear pole 2. you have acces to the A/A module, this has couple of flaps on the sides, try to remove it with a flat screwdriver. Beware of protecting the car plastic wuth a cloth. Once you've taken out that module.. 3. you have a couple of screws in the botom par of the radio, remove them and it'll come out easily. |

. nice Igo navigation. slow satellite conection but once connected no problem . instaled the rear view camera that show the back of the car. great thing. . can play usb. even movies . can play iphone1-4 connector . bad telephone mic... i had to bypass it with my professional radio mic. beside the phonebook orders with phone number not with name, so its hard to find a number . good touch screen. nice bmw welcome screen and bmw screen color simulation. . relative short usage of the idrive, but unless is vey similar to bmw one in general I'm quite happy with it considering its cheaper than other screens in the market. I installed Christmas 2012 hope it helps you decide. |
