Time for some new wheels... OEM M3 content...

Here are a few pics of my OEM M3 wheels...

Info that will most likely get asked...

- lowered on h&r sports
- 245/40/18 fronts
- 265/40/18 rears
- 18x8.5 fronts et29 with 12mm spacers
- 18x9.5 rears et23 with no spacers
- no rubbing as of yet

This is a preliminary test fit... Will likely test out different spacer and tire sizes...

Hi Booster,
Great look, very solid. Good clear photos, especially the rear/side shot showing exact look.
Lowered on H&R Sports. Do they have different springs like ordinary low/soft and low/hard sports. How much drop?
8.5 Ideal Tyre 235 to 245 and Max.Tyre 255.
9.5 Ideal Tyre 255 to 265 and Max.Tyre 275.
Looks like you have a pretty good setup.

Thanks for the compliments...

H&R claims around a 1.5" drop... Only one type offered...

Would have beeen nice for 2, but I am pleased with the outcome....

They really suit the X1....nice job!

I'd get those tire sizes sorted fairly soon though just to avoid issues with mismatched front to rear diameters.

Thanks Misha!
Although it was a horrible transaction with a seller on here, I am very pleased with the way they look

I've been thinking about that too... Not sure which route I want to take because I love the "beefy-ness"...

Will probably change out the fronts to 235/45/18 and that would get the ratio even closer between the two...

Yeah 2 would be nice.
I phoned H&R Aust. and they say drop is around 30mm which is about 1&1/4" which is about what other comments say, give or take.
Guess at least the H&R drop will complement a nice set of wheels and tyres.
Try 1010tyres. Their "tyre size calculator" using your original set up to mix and match.
Like skylineguv said, best to get sizes sorted especially "running diameter" and "diameter % difference".

This is exactly the look I am going for. I have a 335i with those rims and haven't had the time to test fit them. Now I will make the time. I have mineral white so i don't know how it'll look. Won't know till they're on.

I changed out the tires with an extra set for the time being... The OEM M3 sizes were giving me a couple issues with the transfer case... (no codes, just by "feel")

I am running a square 245/45/18 and all is well so far... Just did a 1k road trip with zero issues... (rears have a little more stretch than desired)

I do have a staggered set of 235/45 and 265/40 that I will throw on in the next week or so... That is probably the best combo for diameter match and no stretch...

Booster, I really like your setup and was wondering what the ride is like on those rims? Or are there any drawbacks using those width rims?

I love the M3 wheels. Looks very good.

I'll be running 245/40/18 (25.7) on 8.5 rims and 275/35/18 (25.6) on 9.5 Advan RS rims. This tire setup should work since only 0.1 difference in diameter. I'll post pictures when installed.
