Performance Control add on?

I ordered the Sport line instead of M Sport because I actually like the style better and don't want a harsh ride on our ultra smooth NY/NJ roads.

However I wants the performance control. From what I understand it is only a software program to control the AWD distribution, EPS and brakes. Am I right? And does that mean dealer or a BMW specialty shop can add that to my car?
