New Owner w Questions
Greetings from Toronto, Canada.
Just signed a purchase contract for X1 (white, prem, lights, elec seats) last night and have a few questions hopefully you folks can assist with. Did any of you opt for any of the additional warranty packages, protection plans, rust proofing, 3M chipguard, etc. offerred by BMW? Think I can get rust proofing and 3M guard done elsewhere for cheaper. Thoughts about the other packages/plans? Where is the best place to get winter tires in Toronto? Thanks and looking forward to share experience and info with current X1 owners. |

I Didn't went for any "extras" offered by the dealers. I actually have gotten the 3M tape but I was able to get it installed by the "guy" which is pay by the dealer to do so ... I was able to save a couple bucks this way. As for the extended warranty, I will take the risk. 2 more years ( 6 ) would have cost me over 2500 $, so I'm guessing that the X1 is well built and will not cost me that much in repair over 2 years beyond the actual 4 years warranty.
As for the Tires, I'm from Quebec so I can't tell where to go in Toronto. You always can validate with www.Tiretrends.com, www.pmctire.com (quebec) which are often less pricey than dealers and independant. |

Go to 1010tires.com for tires , use code: REDFLAGDEALS1010 when checkout.
You'll get free shipping to your door and no PST! Their warehouse is in Ottawa. I got my x-ice2 for 203$ each. |

I've gone to Steelcase Tires for 25 years. Ask for Davey. But there could be others closer to you. Read the other threads on this topic.
