Go to options/Navigation/Navigation system version.

If your update went that fast, I'd be surprised it completed successfully. And why wouldn't you need to swap USB thumb drives?

Ya my map version now shows 2016. But this only shows the map version not what was added/updated compared to previous version. Why would i need to swap USBs. I have 16GB USB stick and I think the size of the 2016 Map data for Australia/New Zealand is 5GB max.

OK, maybe your data is divided differently. Mine was separated into 4 partitions which fit on a 32 gig usb but you had to put each partition into the root directory when that usb was asked for.

The system is designed on DVD's. Since DVD's are around 4 GB each, the map is divided into single files around that size. There is also the file size restriction based on FAT32 formatting which matches up with that as well.

It is a shame that the system isn't smart enough to just go to the next file, but it is what it is.

Question

Maybe it is a stupid question but I cannot find the answer. I have a 2013 X1 E84 VIN VT70106 with the next options related to the navigation:
  • S609 Navigation system Professional
  • P7KB Navigation package 'Professional'
  • S837 Delete navigation system

I have all the things required by navigation including the "Navigation" button on the iDrive pad but no navigation in the iDrive menus thanks to the S837 option.

How to enable the navigation? Is it can be enabled just by installing the respective maps, South America PREMIUM for CIC System in my case?

Thanks,
Oleh
