Delayed Start - 2012 X1 (E84)

Good Morning Everyone,

I have a 2012 X1 currently at 94,000 kms (58,400 miles) that I drive two - three times per week.

Since last Monday, I've noticed a delayed start to my vehicle. Upon pressing the start button, in addition to the normal flick of the dashboard, there is an additional flick on the dashboard and what sounded like the car wasn't going to start (engine turning off) and immediately after the car starts up. This is a 2 second delay but I had never experienced this before.

There are no warning lights or anything that came on.

Is this an early sign that my battery might be going bad? Hopefully it's not the alternator!

Check all your ground cables, specifically the one between the engine and driver side engine mount.
