I've seen about a dozen around town. Folks here love small, compact vehicles, especially with an AWD option. I'm sure they'll be as common as Civics in no time.

I are one every 7 days or so. I am ultra-observant as I am still waiting to take delivery of mine. What I notice is that they are all very lightly optioned and small motor.

People do not seem to be jumping on the 35 band wagon. I'm looking forward to being the only 35msport. Half the reason we bought this car over the 3series was to be a little different and we saved a couple bucks in the process.

Small motor! Like my sDrive28? 240 horsepower. It's practically a Tercel! I have to pedal hard to get up hills.

I don't think that comment was made as a slight. He has just has seen more 28i than 35i. The 28i is the small motor offered.

Ha when someone writes "don't get your panties in a bunch," their panties are in a bunch.

"Smaller" motor as relative to the 35 is fine. "Small motor" is inaccurate. My panties are just fine. My boxer briefs too.

Well I got to rest up so I can pedal my 28 home.

"Small motor" is an exact quote:
"What I notice is that they are all very lightly optioned and small motor."

Why don't we all relax here? We're X1 drivers. Some people want even more power than the 28's more than ample engine offers and get the 35. Great. Onward and upward.

In 7 months I have only seen one X1 other than mine. Columbia is only 750,000 people but the local dealer has sold about 20 of them so you would think I'd see more.

I am reviving this old old thread to say that I think a threshold may have been crossed, at least here in Los Angeles. I bought my sDrive just after Thanksgiving and for months, saw another X1 very sporadically. But in the last 2-3 weeks, I have started to notice quite a few more. White dominates, then black, but I have seen a couple Mineral Grays, even Valencia Orange.

Have yet to run into another Midnight Blue. It'll happen...

Here in Lincolnshire UK, I see at least 3 or 4 every day sometimes more. It's quite rural here and the X1 makes a lot of sense as a diesel very cheap to run 4x4.

I just got a call from the dealer... they want mine back after the first year of my lease so they can sell it again. can't keep them on the lot here in Charlotte. Still haven't seen too many of them around though.

Here in Mexico we've only seen one X1 in the wild -- a basic-line mineral white (maybe it was alpine) parked in the main plaza in the town we're staying over the summer. Most people have never seen one. Our mineral grey X-line gets a lot of admirers when we take her out of the house.

We were in Austin, TX in July and spent 10 days there. We only spotted two during our entire stay. We did see lots of X3 and X5’s.

Overall, it seems like the X1 is still a rare species.

In nearly a year of ownership I've only seen 3. Two in my area (1 VO and 1 Min. White) and 1 in DC area. A rare bird indeed.

Oh yeah, the OP. I have seen one X1 on the road in two months I have owned mine. So, yeah, compared to the dozens of 3 series I have seen in that time, it's pretty rare...
