Sdrive available in new X5

For all you S drive haters BMW is introducing S drive for the new 2014 X5. I also read where the next X3 will also offer S drive. It's probably a push to increase Corporate gas mileage but here in SC X drive isn't a must have. My dealer sells many more X1 S drives than X drives.

Makes sense. Cheaper, more MPG = more sales.

Most of the X1's in Greenville, SC are Sdrives but I chose the Xdrive because I drive across a lot of construction sites, a lot of gravel roads and I live in a very steep neighborhood. We don't get snow often but when we do, I need AWD.

I wish I could have saved the cash and bought the Sdrive but my Saab couldn't get out of the driveway a few times.

I would have gotten a sDrive if it were not for the steering.

Same, and if it had been available on the 35i.

Just read a review of the brand new 2014 Acura MDX and it mentions it now being available in front wheel drive for the first time. It specifically says its to increase gas mileage and lower the price point and that a lot of markets don't need all wheel drive. I thought the MDX was always available in front wheel drive but the article says its a new option.
