Twix, I love the headlight tint you did to cover the orange reflectors. Was this a pre-cut part or did you just have a window tint guy do it?

Had the guy do it with exterior tint. Took them a few tries because of the gnarly body line

Well...2 lowered X1s. One looks tasteful and the other looks nasty. I like both!
Nice work.
Being an old fart, I'd likely opt for the tasteful should I feel the need.

Twix,

How far off was your alignment after the springs? Curious where your camber ended up and what you may have had to do to adjust for it. I'm on the fence as far as springs or coilovers. I think I'd rather keep it simple and do springs for once as I'm leasing this car this time.

It all got back within factory specs with no additional parts. 30mm lower.

FWIW, the X1, at 7.6" of ground clearance, is more F-350 than A3 with their 8.5" and 4.3" of clearance respectively.

I really like the stance of your ride. From the photos it looks like you have an equivalent gap between the front, top, and rear of the fenders. The way it should have come from the factory IMHO.

Looks great. 30mm not to low to give it a much better look and would be OK for me, even with our bad roads.
A lot of would be jealous because BMW Dealers don't want to go outside their BMW Square to offer OEM Improvements. Yours on the other hand sounds great Mods.
Fairly pricey but to be expected for peace of mind, quality and warranty.
Are you doing anything with a Dinan install?
Would be good to see with the 19s.

I've talked to Steve a couple of times. He seems quite adamant that they will never do a 28i tune.

Honestly though, I probably never will do any power upgrades. It's an X1 28i. Not an M3. Nor will it ever be an M anything.

Keep the engine and trans etc stock and just enjoy the 33+ mpg on the highway.

I can't wait to see it with the 19's. I've been waiting for what seems like forever, It's a shame the fronts were a full inch too wide. But I should have them by month's end, installed if the weather looks really good.

Looks to be a similar drop compared to my H&R's...

I wish it was another 1/2" or so lower, but oh well...

Booster, your car looks perfect. I'm hoping an M-sport would look that good with springs and the 19" wheels. That is what I'm leaning towards at this point. Weird that most of the springs are not listed for the 35i.

It is weird, I did a lot of research and it's hard to find parts specifically for the 35i. That led me down the road to almost buying KW's, and then getting talked into a JRZ setup

Hi Booster, Like I said to Twix 30mm or around your 1" is OK for me on our bad roads. Your H&R's also look good and we have Dealers in Aust.
I just phoned them and they say drop is 30mm, are suitable for my X1.
Cost ex Germany to my door AUD$470.00.
Mine not due for service till October, which is end of 3 Year Warranty. Like Twix did with dealer I will call mine to see if they can do with warranty or if they are willing to install with guarantee

Your dealer will warranty any labour they do to your vehicle for at least a year. My dealer happens to be the Canadian official AC Schnitzer retailer, they get deals and warranty parts and labour differently than the parts manufacturer. They do the same for Dinan parts and tunes.
