Smile Renting a BMW in Europe?

Hello,

I am planning a trip to Europe for next summer, going to be starting in Paris and probably end up in greece for 2 weeks, while I'm there I'll be going through some pretty good driving roads so I want to get a "cool" car like a 1 series hatchback (F20/21).

It'll just be me and my girl so it doesn't need to be a huge car but a gt-86 might be a tad small

Thanks in advance!

Check Sixt Car Rental, they're the only company that I found that would guarantee me a certain vehicle when requested, but it did cost extra for the 'guarantee'.

I use National (Enterprise) in Germany and I usually request a BMW and get one. Check out Enterprise.

Usually very expensive if you rent a car in one country and return it in another one.
Especially france-greece. Not every rental company does that.
And expect to get a basic engine configuration... 118i or so.

this is the car I rented this summer when I was in Italy, black on black cloth lol automatic tranny - my wife made me get that one and navigation. It was about $450 for 5 days I think - we took it from Rome to Amalfi Coast. Sixth is the company we used and they said car is insured and even when it's totaled I won't owe anything - she said even if bomb destroys it - it's fine. It was a big little car lol

I've rented BMWs at SIXT a couple times,, no problem
first time was a 1ner
the 1ner was perfect for over there,,,, great to have a hatch
to carry luggage no problem,,,small enough to no worry about
parking.
Second time an M4,, great but too $$$ I only did it for my 50th BD
but I would go with the 1ner again,,

Just came back from a short business trip to Greece. Did a little bit of research before hand to make sure I got the car I wanted. Ended up renting a 116d 5 door from Enterprise. They have a lot of these to choose from so thats why I went with them. @20 Euros a day. It was an absolute blast to drive. A no option base manual that filled all the driving thrills I could throw at it on some great roads in the Peloponnese. Good Luck!

Hertz might display 10 results and as classes of cars at first. Select show all and scroll down and they should have individual models displayed, some of which are sporty at times.

We rented the 1 series hatch back twice now. Both of them were diesel with great fuel economy and just enough power to be fun. I would buy that car as a daily driver if they actually had it for sale in north america.

I rented from Sixt as well and would do so again in the future. Sixt has good deals if you reserve months in advance, I got the early bird special on a M3.

Details on that deal? Do I need to email? Call? How much?

Sounds great

Don't rent from Hertz. They will say "BMW 3 series or similar" and you will end up getting a Volvo wagon that's twice the size. That's what happened to me in Munich. I had a good experience with Eurocar in Switzerland renting an A4 convertible but be prepared to pay extra.

I'm not sure if it still applies, but double check if you rent in Germany where you are actually allowed to drive the car.

Several years back I ended up with an Audi A3 from Avis. Half way through my trip I needed to drive to Italy. Italy was listed in the restricted countries that I could take the car to. ie.. yeah I could of taken it but if something would of happened, it would be all on me since insurance would not cover anything.

When I took my trip last summer in June, I had reserved my car months in advance through their website. At first the 2017 m3 was listed at $74 US dollars per day. This was a guaranteed model so to me that was a plus even at that price. After my reservation was set I got a couple of email adds from them running discounted specials on rentals called early bird discount, so with this I emailed them and asked if they could change my price and they did. With this discount it dropped it to $54 a Day. To me that was an outstanding deal I couldn’t pass up.

Also being one of their guaranteed models it’s a higher line so instead of standing in the long rental line like everyone else, they wisk you away upstairs and get you checked out way quicker and off you go out the side exit.
Sixt was easy to deal with and would highly recommend to anyone needing to rent a car in Europe.

That's crazy cheap. I'll be booking stuff end of feb more than likely. I have a trip to Bali in May I need to figure out first
