Retrofit XLine
Having purchased my vehicle without the xline kit, I'm now looking to retrofit.
The side sills were straight forward and the job is complete I would however appreciate some guidance on how to remove the front bumper in order fit the revised grill and trim. BMW wanted £350 labour! Rear would be a bonus but not ready for that yet. Thanks in advance. |

The black mesh was around £32 which BMW did not think I needed and the silver strip a futher £30 (both still waiting to be fitted).
Sills were around £100 and have been fitted - Dead easy (push centre of plastic rivets through and replace with new ones and then unscrew the plastic bolts on the bottom). The rear bumper (silver and black) is £72. Good luck! |

Hi Apocalypse, The x-line price you got there is cheap. I'm in Australia and the dealer wanted $2500 AUD for the x-line kits. Could you help me to get one and post to me. Appreciated for your help. I really want to X-line kits so badly.

Retrofit XLine
Hi Apocalypse,
I'm looking to retrofit the XLine kit too. It sounds like a (reasonably) straightforward job - I've been quoted silly money by BMW for labour to fit. Can you fit the silver strip to the front bumper without the mesh? Did you manage to get it all done yourself ok? Where did you order the kit from? Thanks |

noidea - Best contacting a dealer direct - I'm sure someone will offer to send. Especially as BMW Direct are on eBay.
markridoo - Ordered the bits from Williams BMW. The whole bumper had to come off to add the single silver strip (needed a hand lifting off so not to drop). Yes, the black mesh needs changing too. If you are not changing the bottom silver bit you'll need to file a little of the new grid as they've offset one of the catches by 10 mm to make it a little different. Good luck! |

Just saw this post concerning X1 side skirts in silver. Is going through the dealer cheaper or is there another place to get these? Help ?

Sorry guys been away for a while, it is best to pay the 250.00 total and order them through tisher bmw. The install was very easy, you will need to buy 4 new mounting pins that hold the trim in place near the wheel well. They are made to break when removed, another way bmw try's to prevent you from messing with things. The new pins cost 7 bucks for all 4. Once you push them in place you will cut of the remaining tab. Sorry I have no update pics and no install pics but it is an easy mod. It took me about 40 mins because I was being very careful with pulling pins out. The car looks great now it is truly a great mod for the price. Enjoy guys

would you happen to have the part no for these? Or can I simply ask for the "pins" that hold the skirt in ? Is it a lot of force to remove? I fear snapping osmehing |

No you need the part number, if you go to tisher bmw and type in your info you can find the schematic drawings that show the side skirts and all surrounding parts. I pulled the part number from there.
