I dig the toyota venza, except the front...

AFAIK, this will be smaller than the Venza. The shape, target market, and practicality might be similar, but other than that, I'm not see'ing much of a connection in actual styling.

That 7er cracks me up...

It is definitely smaller than the Venza. I don't see the similarities in either looks or target market. The Venza will probably be much more practical not to mention the target market will be older (think geezer) for the Venza. The venza is a good vehicle imo, but not really all that fun to drive and the grill is horrible.

I would much rather have an x1 with either the 35d, 23d, or 30i (up-tuned). Of course if the put the n54 in it...

What it looks most similar to (and will compete with) is an ex35.

You nailed it on the head. Although I kinda like the Venza, the x1 needs to differentiate itself a little more from other crossover SUV's. Need to see more pics.

I does have a ex35 look to it.

I think it looks a lot like the Nissan Rogue.

PS: both are good looking vehicles BTW...

Interesting, I'm only 27 and I really dig the Venza. A friend of mine who is 29 almost bought one, then some layoff rumors circulated at her work and she decided to wait another year...

Are late 20's "geezer" status?

Being an "enthusiast" I would never buy one, not RWD, etc, etc, but I do like the way it looks...

depending on what happens with the next X3, i may go for the X1, since i need the utility and like the driving style.

That angle really makes it look like it might just be a good STI competitor (N54 provided, of course)
