Wrapping a 2014 X1

Well I'm seriously considering wrapping my year old X1, in Avery’s "Matte Blue Metallic", seen here on 911. The one thing I want to do first is get rid of the ugly roof rails. Has anyone had these off of their car I’m wondering how they mount? Any help would be appreciated.

I had my 135 wrapped and loved it. I'm thinking about wrapping the wife's X1 but we'll be keeping the roof rails. It's a Sport and we like the blacked out trim. We'll pick a color that works with the black.

I think the blue would look good with black rails. Maybe black out the roof when it's wrapped.

Frozen, if you don't mind my asking...do you have a ballpark $$$ value for doing a full wrap? I've got a 2012, and although the paint is in pretty good shape, I bought it used, and it's not the color I'd have picked if I'd bought new.
Seeing as how we're only a couple hundred km. apart, I'm thinking the Edmonton prices and the Calgary prices would be VERY similar..
Thanks!

Carpretty up here in Edmonton quoted me $900 for 25 yards, I'm thinking that's enough to do two cars but I have yet to do a full measure of the car.

Have you wrapped a car before? If not, I wish you good luck. I had a coworker that tried to wrap just the roof on his Evoque. It was NOT as easy as the YouTube videos made it seem. He had it professionally wrapped the next week.

You could dip your car, which would be easier than wrapping it but still requires alot of work and patience. If i remember correctly this car is plastidipped. This is User Teemo Panda's car from f30 forums. I recently plastidipped my rims and can tell you its still hard but if you know how to paint this is a good solution with great looking results.

Also, this process is like a trail and error, if a paint starts to run or drip, you would have no choice but to do it all over again if you know where i am coming from.

I used PlastiDip on stock wheels for winter use, they held up great and look good, very impressed with the PlastiDip!

I wrapped the hood on my truck and quiet a few motorcycle parts with very small details and fancy curves. It's not that hard you just have to think it out and take your time.

I had installer at Car Pretty give me a quick guess as to how much it would be to wrap my X1, and he said $6000. It's $400 for the material and at my wage of $70/hr I have 80 hrs before I brake even. I think it's worth a try, besides people like you that tell me I can't do something, drives me that much more. I except your challenge!

I didn't say you couldn't, just said it's not as easy as some videos make it out to be.
Good luck (again)!
