doing a little conversion... comparing the 135i (listed only 600 pounds more than the X1 xDrive23d) and the US price for the 135 is $35,850. Therefore based on that I'd say the X1 xDrive23d price in the US will be right around the $35,000 mark, possibly starting slightly under that.

hmph... not bad. but still a bit on the hefty side. I would have figured cause its an X1 and at the bottom of the lineup it would have been around 32k or so... but we will see. the engines dont look impressive though. my pre lci e90 320i makes 0-62mph in like 8 seconds, so i see no reason why the x1 cant outpace my piece of shit.

*sighs* me and my pathetic 4cylinder engine. its so depressing.

The US MSRP will probably start at 32-33k for a x1 drive 28 whatever the moniker BMW decided.

Hahah don't feel bad, I once timed my E36 (318is) with a slipping clutch and a full load of passengers at nearly 13 seconds to 60.

I kinda like the X1, I like its styling more than the current X3.

Comparing prices the X1 with the E90 Sedan. The new X1 is cheaper.
And the X1's weight isn't high. It's even lower than E91 Touring (station wagon)

This might be a dumb question, so forgive me if this is common knowledge--but is the X1 not getting the N54 engine?

I really like the looks of this thing--it could be cool to have.....but I would want the umpph I have gotten used to with my 135.....

Doubtful. My guess is they will put N54 in new X3 and put a straight 6 in top of line X1 (like in X3 now).

Man you live in Chicago, I would want a diesel engine with monster torque for all that snow.

If they really want to sell this thing, the MSRP should be $30,995.

The closest they get to $32-$34,000 as the base price will mean that in a couple of model years BMW will have the X1 costing the same as today's X3, and so defeating its purpose.

It was my understanding that the X1 is essentially the replacement for the current X3. I also heard this from a couple of salesmen. It seems to make sense based on the basic size of the X1.

I really hope that the US gets the 23d engine. I love the torque and economy (28mpg!) of my fathers X5d, even when driven in the triple digits that thing gets great mileage.

I also look for the X1's brochure.
But I've got pricelist in my country.
Price is lower than the E91. It's even lower than the E90.
The X1's prices are little bit higher than the 1-series coupe
I suppose that will be differencies of the standard equipment beetwen the coutries.
For example, in Poland X1 23d will be with manual gearbox as standard. Automatic trans. need extra money.
