Programming - X1 2016
Anyone can recommend a good ODB reader/writer that works for the X1 2016 w/ software, I know there is Carly out there but you have to pay big money for the pro edition, I'm pretty certain there has to be others that are using something more relisitic with turning on/off some of the features on this vehicle.

A good OBD to USB K/D can cable will run you $69 to $99.There are lots of junk cables out there for less. Then you will need to get the software. Try searching "MIke's Easy BMW Tools" , this is a free download and set up. You then will need to update the SPDATEN files to the latest edition(Ebay) . You should have a dedicated computer (no other programs) with firewalls off. You will not be able to use INPA to diagnose and clear codes with your model. You could use ISTA+ to diagnose, code, clear codes, flash. This uses a ICOM system to connect and will will cost you thousands. There are A few other programs out there. If you just want to Diagnose, clear codes, code and not flash. Buy a Carly. I have all three and the bluetooth Carly works great, is simple and has lots of options and keeps you from making dire mistakes that can brick your car. if you find Carly to $$ maybe you bought the wrong car.

The OP is asking about 2016 x1 which is F platform, uses Ethernet to obd adapter and esys software. The cheapest adapter is below $10. For software info look at the f30 coding forum.
