Hello,

I have found that Costco is now selling battery for BMW X1.
Have somebody tried to replace BMW battery to non OEM?
As I know programming required when you replace BMW the battery?

Thank you

As far as I understand it, the battery has to be registered so the car knows the capacity, max & min. voltages, charge rates, etc. so that it can accurately charge & discharge as needed.

I don't know what the process is to do this through BMW. I do know that with the BMWhat software on iOS, you can purchase in-app the ability to register a new battery with an OBDII wifi adaptor and your iPhone or iPad. I think it's $4.95 for unlimited licences.
