Delivered!

Ladies and Gents,

The X1 was finally delivered on Friday. I will post photos soon, stay tuned!

Meantime, i have a quick. How is your back door closing? The luggage door I mean. Is it always successfully closing when you hit it down or you should do it two or three times?? I've noticed this defect immediately to my regret.

No other defect noticed thought I have only 230km runned!

Bro u are right, the boot door can be tricky to close properly initially, I wouldn't call it a defect tho, all I did was close the boot door in a more "relaxed" manner , just a bit more practice and get to know the door's "character" mate.

Please let us know how you get on with your X1. I need a guinea pig before I receive mine

About the boot, nah, been to the showroom a couple of times and sat in 2, 3 X1s - seemed fine, did not struggle a bit.

Yep, mine does not like being slammed down. Close it gently while holding onto the silver handle and it closes every time.

My wife finding it a problem as she always in a hurry

Waiting for pics Dimitris

As far as I know, this is a common problem which can be solved very easily: There is one rubber bump beside each tail light. Just screw these bumpers in a bit further.

Very interesting, thanks for that

I have also noticed that the rear lid does not like being closed if you push down on one of the corners. On mine anyway. Push down in the middle and its fine.

On a brand new car you got for 15 mns, nothing should be your problem. I would drive to the dealership even to tighten up a screw.

Yesterday I took it for black tint membranes fitment on glasses. She is now almost ready for show off! She just need a good wash and take my pro camera out for shooting.

As one of my hobby is photography, i prefer to take perfect shots and then post them instead of hurry up the process and take shots with my mobile for instance...

Very nice dimitris - why did you not extend the chrome strip to the rear window?

And yes, a good wash is in order! How do you find the power so far?

About the chrome strip, the dealer told me that it is very hard to be extended upto the rear small window because the whole window has to come off and generally they have to re-assemble many many parts which I dont like on a new car. The strip was an extra and did not come from the factory as it is not an option for the sdrive.

About the power, I fully loaded the car with my wife, luggages, freediving equipment, fresh oranges, lemons, wines, grapefruits, olives, fish, meat and others from my country side hometown. Rear seats down to make space for all of that. I drove back to town for 400km and never felt the feeling of not enough power. Car is amazingly stable on the snake roads and that was a great surprise! Power is more than sufficient for upto 140km speed, thereafter you feel a little powerless. Consumption was 8.9lt unloaded with smooth driving and 9.4lt fully loaded with a little aggressive driving.

I'm also thinking removing the roof rails as it is on plan to put on a Thule box. So with the roof rails the box will be much higher (which restricts me to put car in the garage) than with the classic roof bars which will be lower.

Generally I'm very satisfied with the driving and performance of the car apart from the vibrations explained on an other thread which will be hopefully resolved soon and the spray on the whole rear of the car on wet roads. Mud flaps will solve the problem but I dont like them a lot...

Side note: I washed it yesterday! :-PPP

Hi dimitris,

I have the BMW mudflaps and they are not that bad, very unobtrusive.

I dont know..I would prefer to see them first in real on a black X1 and then decide. Photos are not always good or bad as in reality. Point is that car sprays a LOT of road dust and water all over the rear side. I can imagine the spray on the 255/18 owners...!
