Will this offset be too much?
I have source for a decent set of possible winter rims - Style 124 from an E60. Will these stick out too much?
X1 35i - Stock Front - 18x8 et30 Rear - 18x9 et41 Style 124 Front - 18x8 et20 Rear - 18x9 et32 Fronts would be 10mm wider to the outside & also 10mm less to the inside... Rears would be 9mm wider out 9mm less in... Problems? Maybe not my first choice style wise, but no one else seems to want to sell their 355m wheels for $400 with decent all-season tires! |

Should be no problems, but you might not like the appearance -- the rears will look even more tucked relative to the front. You could always add some 5 or 10 mil spacers to the rears to compensate. I have the factory staggered fitment, and I added 10mm spacers on the front, and 15mm on the rear. (If I had it to do over I'd go with 12mm on the front.) Some have gone as high as 20mm all around, but I think that's a little too much.

Wider - yes. But the fronts will be pushed out more than the rears, although not by much. In my opinion, the X1's rears already look too tucked relative to the front wheels. That's the reason most who add spacers put thicker ones on the rear. Adding spacers to the rears alone should give the car a nice, proportionate stance.
