Light Color Leather Clean / Treat
I have the Oyster color leather interior in my X1-35i. I noticed that it wants to do color transfer from newer clothing. I am curious if anyone has first hand real life leather cleaner / treatment products that they have used and really been satisfied with? I am using Zaino now.

The key with light leather is frequent cleaning. You should do a wipedown at least once a month.
Meguiars gold class leather cleaner is a good, inexpensive, locally available all-in-one solution. Rub some on a microfiber and work it into the seats. Use a second clean microfiber to wipe down. Leaves the seats non-greasy and takes out blue jean dye transfer from my coral red seats very well. If you want to go upmarket, Swissvax leather cleaner is the best I've used. Spritz it on the leather, work a lather with the brush, wipe off with microfiber. Condition with their leather conditioner. |

Excellent results. We had Savanna Beige in our 2009 135i Coupe and this kept it tan as opposed to blue (jeans).

The Swissvax stuff in the previous post looks interesting but the prices are prohibitively high. |

It works great with a soft bristle brush...I bought the Swissvax one. I use Connolly leather treatment after cleaning.

Different leathers need different cleaning and treatment techniques...For the base leather, it is treated with a coating and soap and water mixture works best... i use woolite and water mixture on my past BMW's and MB's... A quick spray and wipe about one a month...There is no real need for fancy "leather" treatments, as these will just lay on top of the coating...
For the more high end leathers, not available on the X1 unless a custom order, different cleaning/treatment products are best... Here is a good link to a previous post http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=582734 |
