softer ride? 17" or 18" rims

Can you tell the difference in comfort from having 17" or 18" rims?

Thx!

16 vs 18

I went straight to 18 inch for my X1.
But I can tell you difference between 16 and 18 because I had my former sedan inch-up from 16 to 18.

If 16 was Nike airmax, 18 felt like a Converse to me.
So 17 vs 18 maybe something less than that.

Non RTF will make more difference I think.
We're going from 18" RFT to 17" non-RFT in a few weeks, will report back here

Cool, would appreciate that.
I love the Style 320 rims that come with the Xline, which are 18". but we
have lots of cracks in our roads up here and can make for a bumpy ride.

I just got my snows on. I went from 18 to 17. The ride is a bit more forgiving than the on the 18s.

Are your snows RFT too? or just a straight up Winter Tire?

Hi

I've got 18" 320's with Pirelli CINTURATO P7 RFTs on my X1. On bumpy roads it's a hard drive. Hit a pot hole and you know it! I don't think it's so much the size of the wheel, but what tyres you have. As much as the RFTs are great on smooth roads and are very grippy in the corners, non RFTs (IMHO) will give a much better overall ride.

J.

Mine are RFT. I don't find them all that bad.

So from 18" RFT to 17" non RFT.
The car is a little bit quieter, feels a little bit softer on uneven terrain (less vibration in the cabin), didn't drive that much so I don't know how it affects the handling
