Quattro Vs. Xdrive Test

At least one scenario in which xDrive is superior to the Q series Quattro.

Wow, that video is old...probably 2009 or 10.
BMW trolls were posting it on Q5 sites way back. Q5 owners were ALL POed.

i love my X1 but since my last car was an A5 with quattro the differences are pretty pronounced. i havent driven the x1 in the snow yet (and im sure its very good) but in the dry and wet, the x1's traction light comes on and with quattro all you get is grip and acceleration. quattro is much better when accelerating around turns - its like the chassis has to overcome xdrive to go faster while quattro makes you a better/faster driver. its ok though b/c bmws are traditionally RWD and i didnt expect the x1 to be a rally type of car

I always figured Quattro was superior to xDrive. However, I had no idea they had so many separate implementations. http://www.awdwiki.com/en/quattro+evolutions/

Interesting that Audi seems to be moving towards brake managed torque vectoring similarly to X1/X3 Performance Control programming.
