2013 x1 35i Msport - Steering wheel compatibility

Hey guys I have a 2013 x1 35i Msport with a Steering wheel that DOES NOT have paddle shifters.

This is something I definitely want. I was wondering if its possible to swap a e82 or e90 steering wheel with paddles? Firstly are they compatible Or what else is compatible?

Is there such a wheel with both paddles AND Heat? Is it direct bolt on? and I assume it would need to be programmed to use the functions?

I have searched and gotten mixed results. Hoping someone can help me out here, This is new car/platform for me, and super excited to have it!

An M Sport without paddle shifters? I didn't think any M Sports came that way, are you sure it's not just a Sport vs. an M Sport?

Are you interested in e82 or e90 wheels because you can't find an e84 m sport wheel with paddles? I'm not sure about harness or coding details for fitting paddles on a car that didn't come with them, but i'm pretty sure i've seen threads of people doing this. Hopefully somebody chimes in with some details or a link of somebody doing this.

The catch with the e84 m sport wheels is that I don't think any if them came heated. At least that's what the salesman told me when I bought my m sport. Maybe you can find a different wheel with paddles and heated? For example our X3 has paddles and is heated.

Good luck on your project!

Actually paddle shifters on 35i M sport was a stand alone option... in fact the only option mine doesn't have.

Several other of my vehicles have them. It's a great feature. I think you can add them separate from the steering wheel. It's my understanding the Msport wheel is not heated

A 2013 35i M Sport I am looking at doesn't have the paddle shifters. Thanks cwickberg for the info.
