Combox upgrade

In a last ditch effort to have BMW Assist restored to my '13 X1, I contacted BMW Assist directly. The response I received said that my vehicle was compatible with the upgrade but at my expense. I contacted my dealer to find out the cost and was told $981.00. Long story short, I'll be sticking with AAA roadside assistance for the foreseeable future.
