BMWs marketing campaign for the X1: Joy is what you make of it

Well, for a few months now BMW has been running a small online advertising campaign for the upcoming release of the X1, mainly on YouTube/Facebook where they have been throwing up video clips of something seemingly bland but with some modification becomes something that much more.

Here are links to what I'm talking about. (Warning, there are no pictures of the car or anything at all like that).

Unless you're talking about STINKING-RICH 18-22 year olds, I would doubt it.

The X1 will probably start around $32,000 (for a 230hp version) or $37,000 (for a 300hp version).

The next X3 is stepping up in size (and price) to make room for the X1. The current X3 starts around $40,000. Expect the next X3 to start around $42,000.

I don't know about you, but I couldn't afford a $35,000 vehicle when I was a poor 20 year-old college student.

X1 would be perfect for a small sized family weekend/ferrying kids to school ride!

what a piece of shit marketing campaign. BMW is priding themselves too much in the out of the box thinking and are looking like fools. Get real and do a good commercial that shows the characteristics and design that make a BMW what it is. Fucccck bees x burger = fat bee. geeezzz

Gag -
This fru-fru marketing campaign smells even worse than the original Infiniti zen campaign.
I don't see anything in the X1 that says "young" or "exciting". "Ambitious soccer mom on a budget" maybe.

I laughed at some of the videos, but in my opinion BMW shouldn't be reducing themselves to Nissan/Toyota level marketing.
