Does yours sound like a diesel when starting up. I thought it was just because it was a new motor, but we're well over 2000K (break-in) now and it still sounds awfully diesel like when she starts up.

Can't really notice it inside.. but that is an unexpected noise from a brand new motor. Maybe this is a side effect of direct injection? Though I didn't notice that sound out of the 2011 Sonata.

Yes it does. I noticed it again this morning when my wife started it up.
However it's nice and quiet when she comes home at night, and when I drive it it doesn't seem to be noisy.

Maybe you have to have the windows open or be standing outside the car to hear the noise.......

i feel you wireracing, the car is sounding loud in morning start (cold start)
That mean, you can't get away in the morning or late evening without your wife's attention.

Same with mine, i got just about 2000K. And yes it wears off a lilttle when the engine gets warmer.

Okay good.. it's not just mine. It must be a result of the direct injection.
