The M-sport package for the BMW X1 was announced just last month and it is currently making its world premiere at the Geneva autoshow.

Featured on a handsome white xdrive28i powered by the latest BMW N20 motor (twin-scroll turbo 4-cylinder), the M-sport package seen here features:
  • Sports Suspension
  • Optional 18-inch double-spoke M alloy wheels (17-inch double-spoke M alloy wheels are the standard wheels)
  • M aerodynamics package including M door sills and High Gloss Shadow line trim for the window surrounds and roof rails.
  • Sports seats in cloth/alcantara
  • M leather-trimmed steering wheel
  • BMW Individual roof liner in Anthracite.
  • Dark cross-brushed aluminium interior trim
The M-Sport Package will hit the market this Spring in Europe. Latest reports expect the X1 to be launched in the US possibly in Fall 2011.

Vow, this looks good (minus the steering wheel would look/feel better if it was all soft leather). Love the way they covered the inside with white plastic underneath the front bumper, not to have black screws being visible.

looks unbelievable! Such nice interior... especially the seats. Still don't understand why they don't have the alacantra as an option in the US.

Bring it to the US already! I would strongly consider ordering one after a test-drive. Would prefer an x3 m-sport, but its kinda pricy with all the options...

They could've spent an additional 5 euros for a propper and elegant closure for the 12V socket though, because the current one looks like it's been taken from a 1986 Wartburg and apparently was already stolen by someone at the Geneva show

5 euros? No way that would've cost more than 0.50. Perhaps you can purchase one at the dealer for 15

i can't seem to find a purpose for this car. Wouldn't an X3 be more practical?
nonetheless, it looks good

i like it. but i still like the x3 better. don't like the back as much. Not a fan of the alcantra either. it's hard to maintain that. i had it on my e46 zhp. no alcantra for me.

Purpose: Coupe-like handling, great-yet-environmentally-conscious power, utilitarian enough for 99% of everyday life.

Don't get too excited; no guarantee it's coming to the US. If it doesn't, I'll probably revert back to my original plan for an E91.

Probably depends on your definition of purposefulness. If it's practicality alone then sure, there are a few more practical, and cheaper, cars on the market.

But that one drives great, is big enough for a small family and on top of this is fancy as hell.

You are not alone.

One thing that bothers me about the new X3 is the front. The cut line for the hood on the X1 is higher up like the Z4, new 5 & new 6. It's a safe assumption this trend will continue to the new 1, 3 and across the line.

I think they should have given the X3 the same treatment. I feel like in some ways the X3 is going to be left behind design wise, as the first generation was. The first generation always looked painfully dated and I think this model might be the same.

The X1 already looks more in line with the current trend of the front ends.
