Bringing this thread back up again. Also deciding between the BMW and Thule AeroBlade. The Thule seems to have good reviews, but i havent heard anything about BMW's, which Im hoping to get one since I can get it cheaper
Anyone who has the BMW base support system? How is it? |

Oem bmw bars
Quote:
Only thing is they sit a little high, but i was willing to sacrifice subtle looks for more than a $200 savings vs. going with the Thule bars. Also the clamping system is a little finicky and notice that I scratched the paint on the rails a little bit.. (Probably because I installed them in a rush to go surfing). Either way, I recommend them.. Good racks for the price.. Btw, there is little to no noise from them. |

I bought and installed the Thule 47" AeroBlade rack for my X1 because I wanted the rack to look sharp with my xLine accents while confidently carrying skis or bikes. I had been accustomed to Yakima round bars and am finding the AeroBlade to be very quiet in comparison. There is a little wind noise here and there, but not bad at all.

For those with the Thule AeroBlade, any interference if you tilt up your moonroof?
