Yeah the warranty is up, so I'm on my own. I dont mind cause I never use the dealer for anything, I like projects.

Is there a way to test this unit? Before I go buy a new one?
I'm also going to take off the door handles and inspect them, but the fact that no CA is working at all IE key, trunk and such, I'm guessing its the control module. |

UPDATE: Checked more fuses, found a blown #61 and that was it. SOOOO.
My car started without the key in, but the doors did not work. And after my trip to the store it no longer works, I will check again, but I bet its blown, leaving me the only logical thing left, door handle short. So when I tear those suckers off we will have a full spectrum diagnosis and so far I've only spent a dollar on a fuse, and possible a little more on new capacitive internals for the door handle. TADAHHHH! |

Pretty straight forward. I will do this tomorrow to check everything. Once again posting all this incase anyone else wants a straight forward way of checking why their POS comfort access isnt working, I'll do another post doing step by step diagnostics. |

Took out both door handle chips, no broken wires or visable damage.. Fudge,
Diagnostic test. Unplug both, put in new fuse and see if it blows. If it doesnt, plug in drivers side only/then passenger and see if it blows the fuse. See which one it is. Can anyone reading scan their 35i fuse box thingy, I'm wondering if maybe i need a 7.5amp fuse and not 5amp. FUSE SLOT 61 |

So my keyless start will work but the doors dont, if its a short in one of the doors thats easy to test.
So if those prove inconclusive then I'll jsut get a new board and that will end my problems "i hope", thanks all for your help I'll post a final verdict when I figure it out. |

UPDATE!
It was the driverside door handle, I guess its faulty, not sure if its the actuator, but when I disconnect the handle everything works fine. So for now its disconnected and fishwire tied for easy access till I can get my hands on another black handle. SUCCESS! Last edited by thestimp; 01-07-2016 at 08:26 PM.. |
