Been up to check it out at the dealers, and now the wait is going to feel even longeeeeer!!!

Not the best pics, as via my phone and it was in a compound, but you get the drift. Doesn't seem that much smaller than the X5 it was parked by the side of too.

Picking it up on 2nd Sept

Tell me about it. Was OK until I saw it earlier. Damn!

It will come round quick. Its still a quicker wait than when I waited for my Z4M back in 2006.

4 weeks, 5 days and counting!

Quite relieved as well as looked at some pics on the BMW site yesterday and really disliked the look of the piano black. But thankfully it was poor pictures, and it looked a lot better in real light!

I like the piano black as well, just not good with little sticky fingers.

Also maybe ask the dealer if you can put some sunshades on the inside while she is wating for you?

Yeah good point, will do.

Have to say I could notice that some of the interior plastics didn't look/feel as nice as other BMW models (have seen this stated before) but to be honest, I was really happy with the overall look.

The red/brown seats look great, especially against the piano black.

The colour combo really works. I've had red leather in my last two cars but was unsure in this one. However didn't want black/black. I was really pleased yesterday as I'd not seen the colour other than in a leather swab. It looks more of a reddish tan than it does in the pics but I immediately liked it when i saw it.

Waiting for the new UK registration (1st Sept). Will make a little difference come resale too.

Yep, which was the reason I delayed my build as well. really silly thing this in the UK, only place I know of where the plate has a direct impact on the resale value. Register it on the 31 st August and its worth £100s less than if you register it on the 1 st Sep. Crazy

Nice co.lor combo. I considered the red-brown leather on the X1 with Marakesh brown outside. BMW advises against this combo, as a result I decided for the magnabrown leather. But seen how bright the red-brown looks I get in doubt again

Forgot to mention that the stupied 1st sept system in the UK has a copy in the Netherlands but that's on 1st jan.

The colour looks a little more rich on the photos than it actually is. It's not as bright as it looks. In the lot where mine was they actually had a brown x1 (not marakesh, the other one) with the same seats you've chosen. It looked really nice - I think you've definitely made the right choice.
