Non-leather dash cleaner

I’m trying to figure out what the material for the dash on the g87s is. Softer than plastic, but doesn’t seem like leather. Some form of matte vinyl?

Anyways, thoughts on how to clean it but maintain the factory matte look?

Thanks!

Haven't heard that name in a long time but a solid brand.

Any brand that is reputable will have an interior cleaner product that is an all around cleaner. I use Nextzett cockpit cleaner. Perfect for what you are looking for.

And I'm guessing given the vintage of your car, you're not really looking for a "cleaner" but more of a dressing. In a Roundel column several decades ago I called zymöl Vinyl one of the ten best new products of the year because it restored the original non-shiny look of my 2002tii dashboard. I still use it today on my 128i dash.

Never use anything but water on any plastic surface. All products pull the natural oils out of the plastic, replacing it with their own that outgasses very quickly, making you have to reapply constantly.

Water. Just water.

Any interior quick detailer will do.

For example I use DIY Detail clean & protect for my regular cleaning, like dust. And if something is really dirty I use optimum power clean dilluted.
