Replacing stock iDrive display with used unit - Coding required?
Hello All, I didn't see any info about this issue on a search, so hopefully I didn't just miss it.
My stock iDrive display is starting to get some crack lines on my 2014 (got some minor scratches years ago from a sliding object) and I'm looking to replace it with a cheap, used unit from Ebay. The process is easy enough, but is this one of those things I'm going to need to have coded to my VIN/Vehicle? I'm hoping it is just plug and play, but I don't see much info on it. I don't want/need to upgrade the screen to a much more expensive Android system, as it is my wifes' car.
