Car Care Products
I'm talking interior and exterior treatment (leather, vinyl, glass, paint, tyres, wheels etc).
What do you use? What works? What doesn't work? I'll get the ball rolling. PAINT: Meguiar's NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 Dinitrol 7040 HARDWAX is meant to be used as a sealer and can last up to 12 months. This stuff was popular 15 years ago and I found a bottle in the garage so I gave it a shot. I compared it with Meguiar's NXT Generation® Tech Wax® 2.0 (liquid) and to be honest the NXT felt a whole lot smoother and gave a deeper shine (I used a clay bar before applying both waxes). Meguiar's boast that NXT has Hydrophobic Polymer Technology, but I can't comment on it's longevity. Last edited by MildMethod; 12-12-2017 at 07:57 PM.. |

LEATHER: Bowden's Leather Care Products (water based)
http://www.bowdensown.com.au/leather-care-pack I use the above for my (nevada) leather seats. My seats are in great clean condition, but after applying Leather Love (maybe its just in my head, but) they felt marginally softer. Shop around; I got leather love and leather guard for under $40AUD for both ($17 and $21 respectively). A salesman at the local store told me that these two products are water based, as opposed to silicon based. He seemed to believe silicon based leather treatment can destroy leather. From some research silicon seals the leather and doesn't allow it to breath, resulting in cracking. I wash car and wheels with Bowdens because a lot of other Wash Brands are not good for Wheels and they don't tell you that. I think they have their own chemists as well. Bowdens say their Products are free of harmful Silicone's, Corrosive Salt, pH neutral, Phosphate free, Biodegradable and contain Rust Inhibiting Agents. Some Other Brands don't have what their Products contain on the back. I phoned one and they admitted to having a little phosphate. Any way you can Free Call them to ask any Questions, very helpful and better than any Salesman. Was my Oil comments of any use to you? |

I've used different Meguiar's products, and they seem to usually be good. I usually use old-fashioned Meguiar's carnouba wax, if I have the patience to do it. Otherwise, I have some liquid wax.
Usually use Meguiar's for the interior -- I have the "tech protectant". But I also picked up some Nexzett products to see if they worked any better. Not sure if they are, but the Cockpit Protectant or whatever is pleasant. Oh, and I used their Gummi Pfledge on the rubber seals, and that works fantastic. The Nexzett plastic cleaner doesn't seem to really clean the plastic for me. Oh well. |
