Tire Sizes For Oem 18" sport wheels
I'm terrible at wheel and tire sizing. I want to know if I can run any wider tires on the oem sport package 18" wheels. I know I'm not going to add much width on a stock setup and that's fine. Won't be lowering the car. Don't want any rubbing or any kind of hassles. Mostly I'm interested in seeing if different sizes open up options with different tires, but again I'd rather just stick to oem size before running into any kinds of issues, I want to keep it simple.

I've got 255/40/18's all the way around on OE M-Sport 355 8" rims with 10mm spacers in rear and 5mm up front. No rubbing. Approximately 1.2" wider than stock see pics here: http://e84.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1463360

OK, they're 8" wide (they also sold those same wheels staggered 8"/9", that's why I asked) . You could run a 245/40 all around. Wouldn't really want to go any wider than that without pinching the tire a bit and giving up some steering feel.
You could also run a 235/45. A bit taller (your speedo will actually become more accurate ), but fit fine. They fill out the large wheel wells a bit better too.

235/45 is the way I would go if I were changing from OEM sizing but keeping the stock wheels
I'm thinking of going 245/40 and swapping to 8.5" wide wheels (TSW Bathurst), maybe 255. |

No problems cornering hard in wet or dry conditions. We have also had a decent amount of snow here lately and they do well in the snow also. Narrower tires are preferred in snow, but the xdrive helps alot with this issue.
