Same here. I've asked about it every time I've taken the car in.
Am I worried about it... No, but I'd still like to get it taken care of sooner rather than later. |

Replacement airbags are in for mass consumption in the continental US.
Schedule today, you should have already gotten your letter or receiving one soon for all zones of the recall. |

Yeah, just got my letter last week that air bags are available. I'm going to wait until my next service.

I had mine done on the 335i last week. I asked about my X1 and was told it didn't need it.

Had to call BMW NA to get my dealer to do anything. Got my letter from BMW saying inflator was in stock, dealer says no, back and forth several times and finally got an appointment. I sold our 2007 335i convertible in June because I went back and forth with my dealer for a month and said screw it and bought a Toyota. BMW is so stupid, two different vehicles and both times they send a letter saying your part is in stock when it isn’t. Finally got them to admit that the manufacturer of the part had them in stock but not BMW of NA or the dealer. What a stupid way to run a business and ruin any good will you have with the company. 16 BMW purchases and you get treated like crap, why send a letter knowing it is not true.

I got mine a few weeks ago. If you call BMW NA and tell them you are thinking about trading your car, they will put you on an accelerated list. Took about a week after my call to them to have the unit replaced.

Must have a lot better dealers in Miami than Columbia, SC. Amazing what a little competition does for customer service, one dealer so they don’t give a damn.

I would agree that competition does present a factor on how you are serviced, but I believe that most importantly the Service Adviser you have goes a long way in forming your overall opinion of the dealer. Maybe you should consider possibly changing to one who knows the ropes and always has high reviews. You always have those that shine and those that are just passing through.

FWIW I got the official notice in the mail and called my dealer. They are ordering it. They said they are limited to 25 per week and are ordering them as owners call in. They will followup when they get it in.

Went through the same crap, letter says parts are in call to schedule. Called ,parts not in had to order got it done last week. They treated us to a meal, handed us 4 menus to choose where we wanted them to order from. Nice touch on their part still sucks we had to wait 16 months for a free meal.
