CO is one of the driest place. We water every day for 15min average, and we get cracked soil from lack of watering. Denver is so dry that it makes LA really humid. When I was living in LA, we water the lawn ~2-3times per week. http://web2.airmail.net/danb1/wettes..._us_states.htm (listed 7th driest state) http://www.currentresults.com/Weathe...est-states.php (7th overall, 8th winter, 9th summer) http://www.currentresults.com/Weathe...riest-city.php (Denver- 6th driest city) |

At 8500+ ft altitude mountain area does have 83F summer. Today was consider a very cool day in Denver metro area, and it was 89F here. Denver hits 100F once a year average, but I live 35miles north and we hit about 3 timer per year. One benefit for living in CO is , it is extremely dry, so it is not humid at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Climate_of_Houston http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver |

it was 95 in Houston today - heat index was 107 because of the humidity... over the course of 120 days (June, July, August and September), we will hit 100+ heat indexes about 75-80 times...... |

The humidity is oppressive. I've got a ridiculous 88% humidity right now.

When I visited Dallas/Plano , I thought it was very humid.
They told me to go to Houston. Everytime I goto Los Angeles, I tell my friends that it is very humid there. One guy who lived in Rio said "You think LA is humid?" |

Used to travel all over for business and the two places I could never get over the humidity were Houston and Central Florida. I was a lot younger and lighter back then and it was difficult to deal with/acclimate too. At my advanced age and weight I would not even try.
Yes Colorado is dry and Cali is becoming more humid each year. |

just a little tidbit I found a few years ago (yes, I used the word tidbit )
anyways, I always wondered why the hell the water was so cold on the west coast as opposed to the east coast... found out that the currents flow clockwise on BOTH sides... that said, if the current is flowing clockwise in California, its bringing in all of the cold water from the north, up around Alaska... if the current is flowing clockwise in Jersey or Rhode Island, its bringing in slightly warmer water from the south (Florida, etc)... and the water in the Gulf just sucks - it's pretty much a Jacuzzi from May through October HAHAHA !!!!! |
