Just got a Production#!

I'm a true nub here and would appreciate some feed back on the new purchase of an X1 xDrive 35i MSport. I'm currently an owner of a 2012 X3 xDrive 28i and making the switch to the 3-Class on stilts basically haha.

Question:
How long does it typically take from Phase 1 "Production Begins" to receiving it in Anchorage, AK.?

9-14 weeks I would guess to AK.

Tacoma, WA is the last stop of the boat and then travel by truck from there.

Nice build by the way. Black & black was my first choice and my favorite X color combo when detailed. I'm just not diligent enough to keep it the way it deserves (will be even harder when our first baby arrives).

I've got a production number but no production date--been that way for a few weeks. Hearing when you ordered might help me be more patient

I know my car arrived at the port of exit...waiting to hear what ship it's on. Dealer said he will send me the 'Bill of Laden' within the week. When we ordered the car he said to expect at least 50 days before delivery. Plus we ordered during the holidays...my first BMW...currently driving a 2004 Honda Pilot w 170,000 miles.

01/15/2013 Production Started
01/24/2013 Production Ended
01/28/2013 Arrived at Port of Exit

Still waiting to hear if or when it will get on a ship. I looked at K Line and can't figure out the shipping schedule. WW schedule is much easier to follow.

Ordered on the 17th and got my production numb3r on the 29th. Can't wait to hear from that surround sound system!

I just got my production # and cant track it. I went to the MyBMW page and on my account went to add a car, typed in my production number and it says it cant be found.On my VIR it say status 112.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for link again but I wasn't given a VIN so how I can I start to track it?

Once your car has entered production on bmwusa.com your dealer should be able to provide you the VIN. I simply emailed my guy and got it.

Some of us have slower dealers than others.

So, not content to wait, I figured out that you can look up the VIN on the bmwusa.com site. When viewing the tracking page for your car, view the page source, and search for VIN_7.
This will be available from when the car enters production.
If you need the full VIN, enter the VIN_7 code at http://bmwvin.com/
