Converted over to X1
New owner coming to the X1 from an X6. The previous was big and fast and loved to suck gas (X6 50i DInan) Truly loved the X6 but doing some more hwy miles and needed better mileage.
Looking forward to seeing how performance improvements help the X1s numbers. 2013 X1 35i Sport (only two M Sports local, neither had paddle shifters)

Congrats on the new car. I was admiring a special edition X6 when at a dealer recently, so tempting with that fantastic alcantera interior and interesting silver paint. Enjoy the new ride, write up a review comparo

Pretty nice, I have one coming in about a week. Black with black leather, cold weather pkg with premium pkg.
While I don't care what others think a lot of my friends have called the X1 a woman's car for some reason. I think its pretty sporty and not at all a "Soccer mom cruiser" |

If it was meant as an insult, the X1 doesn't come with the stereotypical features that "women want". There's no real room for a rearward facing child seat, no default lighted vanity mirror, no super-soft suspension, no room for a dashboard Kleenex bag, little room for rear window stickers, and it doesn't have 7 seats. |

The X1 feels light and nimble compared to the X6, although it was surprising how well the X6's 5400lbs held the road. Fortunately/Unfortunately I haven't really driven the vehicle yet as I'm giving it break-in. So we'll see once I'm ready to drive the X1 and compare.

Bah all the better. The more they think it's a momma's grocery getter, the more the tuned ones will be making some jaws drop.

check out this glowing review of the X1 sneak previewing the 2012 model: http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...6_2012_bmw_x1/
I'm not sure but I think thats a review from Georg Kacher, someone who I think is one of the better car reviewers. |
