sadly they just pop out without taking the wheels off (to easy to steal). I used a micro fiber cloth and a plastic thin pry tool that I used to remove the hood and trunk ones..... I started them by using a thin fishing line to fit the pry tool in the gap. The pry tool was part of a set I picked up at my local parts shop.
As far as the X1 I have had it about a month and love it.... |

Ok you M snobs need to get over yourselves. BMW named this version the Msport and badged it as such by adding the M logo to the steering wheel, foot rest, door sills and wheels as such. For those of us that paid the 3k for the package we are entitled to call our X1's M's.

You can call your X1 whatever you want. Not only "M snobs", but BMW (and other) enthusiasts, will give you crap, though. This goes back to all the 'adding stickers/badges' to you car threads across all car forums in the world that have been beaten to death. No one slammed your mods so don't get bent out of shape. You're free to call it what you want, but don't expect everyone to agree with it since there is no real X1M, just an X1 with a factory branding package. On a side note, I'm a bit disappointed that the Sport Line doesn't come with a 'sport tuned' suspension...1.9k seems like a lot to drop for what amounts to larger side bolsters and, I'm assuming, beefier steering wheel. Seems that the Sport Line should have gotten a stiffer suspension and the M-sport Line and even stiffer one.

$3,000 over base or $1,100 over the sports option does not buy you an M car. If your dealer gave you that impression, I am very sorry - you encountered a very bad dealer. A 3 Series Coupe M-sport package starts at $42,495 An M3 coupe starts at $60,100 The X5 M-sport package starts at $61,095 The X5 M starts at $88,850 If BMW were to release an X1M, you can be certain that it would not be the 28i, and the price would be far higher. You are free to call your car what you like, but I fear that you will be perceived as a poseur and met with derision if you continue to call it an X1M. It's a great car, but it's a 4 cylinder with stiffened suspension and M-sport styling. If you bring it with you to a race day, I'd think your face would go red. Be proud of having a great car. An X1. |

yes its an M-sport happy now..... As far as adding stickers I didn't BMW did so your issue is with them not us. The dealer put the m plate frames on and its how I purchased it.
to quote a famous person I don't want to be a member of a club that would have me so this will be my last post as I really don't want to be associated with the likes of this crowd.... You remind me of the bikers I deal with.... I own a harley and a rice rocket and get along with anyone that rides two wheels..... This is exactly why your thought of the way your are in the auto world........ |

Wow... Realize that tone is hard to read and, at least my post, was not an attack or intended to be insulting. With regards to the straw man point prompting this response, I have no issue with people that put stickers on their cars. While some may amuse me, I don't berate them over it. To each their own and it is not my place to impose my world onto that of another simply because our taste(s) differs.
BMW and other enthusiasts (not just vehicular) hold certain marques/badges, for lack of a better word, sacred. The Motorsport designation happens to be one of those. To think that there are not similar purists in the biker world is foolish.
