Wow - best looking X1 ever
Thanks it's coming along, I did the JB Stage 1 yesterday along with an aFe Pro Dry drop in filter.
Do you have a 28i or 35i?

Ok i just ordered my wheel spacers and got 15mm in front and 20mm in back should have pics within the next week. I also got a quote on power coating my wheels to a glossy black for 125.00 a wheel. I think this is the better way vers plastic dip....

Does anybody know if there is a "golf Tee Mod" on the 35i?

On my 335i the right exhaust flap was closed till about 3000 rpm. The golf tee mod opens both of them up so it is a bit louder. There was 2 ways to do it. Either unhook it from the trunk or go under the car and plug the hose... Just watched a video on a 135i, so it should work on our x1

I've removed mine. Cut the arm (that opens the flat) and removed the ECV unit. It does sound a lot deeper now, I was somewhat surprised.

Is sound the only plus? Will it screw the warranty?

Yes and no. It doesn't throw any codes or cause any issues.

Here's my new steering wheel with a little spazz...

Wrapped parts of it in CF vinyl and changed the BMW badge. A big plus that it has paddles as well. X1 20i Xdrive (not available in US) comes with a real shittastic stock steering wheel, this will be a nice upgrade for me both visually and functionally.

De gustibus non est disputandum and all that, but I think most recent BMWs come with seriously ugly steering wheels. Oversized diameter, undersized grip, curved the wrong way, exposed seams, and with so wide and high spokes that the instrument panel is covered unless you drive straight and you can't put your hands on more than half the rim when turning. C'mon, BMW, just because you call the X1 an SAV didn't mean you had to give it a truck's steering wheel!

I have the M wheel now but I'm thinking about adding this AutoCarbon Carbon Fiber + Alcantara Steering Wheel but I need to do more researching on this first may be too big for the x1. http://www.bimmian.com/AutoCarbon-Ca...for-BMW-E84-X1.

I'm all in for modding (have modded the last 3 Subaru's I owned), but tell me there's something different in the US compared to the UK with how the warranties work.

If I bought a new X1 in the UK and started to change bits or mod parts within the 1st 3 years... without BMWs permission or use non certified BMW parts... my warranty would be toast!

It seems you guys state side either have very understanding dealers, or it's just not an issue if you have to make a warranty claim.

Take the LED type mods we've seen. I think they look great and will be looking at doing that in the future, but if I did it now and then had to make a claim under warranty for something electrical, my dealer would tell me to go away politely.

Just interested to see if warranty claims get honoured on modded new-ish cars in the US.

Looks sick, have you felt a difference in the handling? I'm looking to get spacers as well... Did you end up doing to golf tee mod?
