Where to get front license plate mount?
We're looking for a front license plate mount for my wife's 2015 X1, would like something that doesnt require holes drilled into the vehichle. Does something like that even exist? And if not, what are our options for plate mounts? Thanks!

The original front license plate mount for M sport bumper does not require holes if I’m not mistaken. If yours is msport i can check mine and can sell it to you. Let me know.

I've been using tier products since they started making stuff for my 2003 MINI Cooper S. They have awesome customer service! Platypus Mount: https://www.cravenspeed.com/the-plat...mount-for-bmw/ Here it is on my X1 |

Thanks for everyone's great suggestions. Sadly my wife has now told me she MUST have a center mounted plate, she doesn't like the ones that are off to the side - which is actually my preference. So I'm thinking our only option now will be drilling some holes and mounting a regular bracket.

- either install it on the front of the main breathing mouth by installing two "L" brackets and drilling the wholes under (on the horizontal) and not on face of the bumper (vertical) - either order a license plate sticker that requires no holes. It is neat, space free plus offers some chip protection. |

Thanks for everyone's suggestions, some were better than others (lol). But yeah I'm gonna hit up a few auto parts stores tomorrow and will prolly pick something up. I'll update the thread with whatever I end up with.

Updating, I bought a BMW OEM front plate bracket from eBay. Fits in the center of the bumper, using two small slots in the bottom of the plastic part of the bumper. Fits perfectly flush and looks nice, but.. will require two holes drilled in the metal part of the bumper to secure the bracket. I'm not that crazy about that part of the install, so am thinking I might use some type of epoxy instead to bond the bracket on in the same spot the screws would normally go. Havent decided yet. Will update with final results.

FWIW We have had a front license plate on our buggy sans holes for over 4 years now. It was put on with several tabs of double stick tape.

Anyway to update, I ended up using a couple of self tapping screws to attach the (OEM) bracket, which worked out well. The bracket has two tabs that slide into two slots at the bottom of the bumper. |
