2 days in and Loving it!
Well I have had my X1 for 2 days and I absolutely have zero regrets. One of the things I was really worried about was the power and acceleration being that I have been use to driving 400+ HP cars for most of the 2000's. this 35i is awesome and I can't wait to piggy back it and get some more power out of it.
Ride comfort is superior to my SS Camaro. I have to go over a couple sets of pretty rough train tracks to get to my office every day and this thing is amazing at handling them. I haven't had to haul anything in the back yet so I dan't know how good of a grocery getter it will be, but I know it definitaly can't be worse than my SS. Overall I would say I hit this one out of the park with my decision and the choices I made for options and motor. On the way into the office today I reset all the MPG and put it in ECO pro mode and when I got to the office it said 31.2 MPG. I know it is just a snap shot but I will take it. Is anyone else this happy with their decision? |

Many of us are (I am!). As my car originally was delivered with A/S tires by mistake, the M Sport package with summer tires adds greatly to the driving experience. Sometimes, I wish I had gotten the 35i (traded in my N54 335i for this)...but now that I have the car seat installed I know I made the responsible choice for our family. The elevated seating position has proved much better for my ailing back.

Bought an X-line x28i for the wife and she's thrilled. At first the throttle lag was annoying (second or two delay when stepping on gas from stop). But took it into the dealership to have the transmission adaptives reset AND followed the throttle body adaptation reset procedure... and seems to have corrected it. The latter needs to be done every couple of weeks though, but it's super simple.
The connect with the road sets this small SUV apart from it's competitors. We test drove the new Ford Escape, RAV4, Tiguan, Sportage, CR-V & Infiniti EX. None felt as good as the X1. Congrats on your purchase! |

Good to see several coming from performance vehicles to the 35i. Might be able to get some decent data on it with various setups between us.

[*] Squirting lighter fluid into the injection is a common enough trick when you have problems starting. Don't try on the BMW, though; you'll probably trip a code. |

Most of the modern vehicles are electronic throttle and that delay feel is fairly common. It can be adjusted to be more or less sensitive from stock.
When the M56 first came out it had a nasty delay in it as the computer was trying to figure out the input and chose the correct gear in auto. If you went to manual shift most of that delay went away. Infinity released an updated flash for the ECM that solved it pretty much about 10 months after it came out here in the U.S. Of course most tunes will too
