Poll: E84 Msport vs Standard with options
Hi guys,
Please help me out to choose. I got 2 options as below. 1. 2011 BMW X1 18i Sdrive M sport $2,500 more expensive,65xxx kilometers, 18 inches M wheels and all the Msport goodies. Other than that stock. 2. 2010 BMW X1 18i Sdrive with premium package and lighting package, 75xxx kilometers, Panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, auto dimming mirrors, cloth heated seats, reverse camera. I'm torn between the two. If you were to choose which one you would get? Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Last edited by Mperformanc3; 09-19-2019 at 12:13 AM.. |

I bought stripped version of 14 s28i in M Sport.
Only extra was mineral white. I don't miss anything. I even have halogen lights. They work fine on high beam. Car has rain sensor wipers very nice. The seats are incredible, and non electric. I love my staggered 18 inch wheels and put 4% lower profile on for about 3 extra mph in quarter. Many people have trouble with the glass roof, and xdrive front transfer case. M sport is the fun, and you'll hate the non Msport seats. |

IIRC you can get staggered set-up on xDrive. As long as the diameter differences meet requirements.
You don't need M Sport for sport seats. They come in Sportline as well. Electric versions provide variable minute adjustments over manual. Also... memory setting with CA is a godsend if you share the car with spouse. Lumbar support, side bolster adjustments all managed in CA makes life easy. IMHO, BMW's HIDs are some of the best on the automotive industry and the angel lights are a BMW signature. Backup sensor/camera is helpful. I mean this is a modern car afterall. iDrive is useful in a car like this, opens up other possibilities otherwise not available or limited via the 80s style pixelated info bar. Yeeshh.... The MSport does come with nicer bodykit and it is colour coordinated. Most complain about the 19" ride harshness. YMMV. I much prefer the 18" Orbit Grey wheels. I also like the thicker sport steering wheel. Both are available in Sportline trim Personally I wouldn't buy a stripped out BMW. I prefer my BMWs to have some signature featureset. |

Given similar miles, I'll take the features over pretend M stuff.

Honestly I would wait until another one that I truly wanted came along. I bought one of the most expensive (optioned) X1's and since this is my only vehicle for now I am glad I did.

BIS - butt in seat and color is what tipped us to get the M-sport. That said, I been looking for a new vehicle almost pulled the trigger on but it got sold. Others have now come and gone, yet I still find ones that will work. In other worlds if you are in no hurry keep looking.

Thank you for your input guys! Looks like its a very close match.
its more on a sporty look and experience vs a luxury one. However, considering the price difference between the two. The M -sport is more expensive by $2,500nzd. Mileage has a 20k (kilometers) difference though, being 53,000 kms on the Msport. I agree about the seats on the M sport but heated seats is very helpful on winter times. The bixenon headlights are just a beauty! Considering all this, I’m leaning towards the non-Msport one now but still have a few hours to decide! I might take it today and probably give it a fresh look with 19s on it! |

I wish I have the time to wait longer. It’s pretty hard to find a decent car with a good price. I have waited for 2months for this day to come. Lol.

Well based on your handle name, you should get the M Sport. Else you'd have to re-register with a new name. And we know how painful that can get.
Seriously, I cringe whenever I see a modern BMW with halogen lights. Those yellow filaments bulbs belong in the e36 era. |

I will go for a loaded one. However, Pick the one that was maintained better.
The M staggered wheels give s a narrow range of tires. I prefer the square setup. Are they staggered? Mine has M 18 " wheels in square setup. Mine is loaded with heated seats, heated steering wheel, automatic beans, comfort access, all that jazz. and I love it. |

I would go with the M sport. To me, it just looks so much better.
