Own the old X1 and drove the new one this weekend. It's a MUCh bigger car inside, and noticeably larger outside too. Interior has been improved and refinement is no comparison. The shitty cluketty, clukket, cluketty soud from the engine is gone, the overly harsh downshifts and knotchy upshifts are gone, the APPALLING throttle lag is there but not as bad as before and the experience is far more refined on all fronts.
You do feel the height and the weight up top, it drives like a small SUV rather than a car like the old one did. So as advertised, not as sporty but much, much easier to live with.
