I would say the biggest issues with the X1 are space and the crappy audio system. You probably have experience the awful soundsystem if you already own a BMW. For the Space issue it is basically a 3 seater when I am driving and I am 6' 1". My wife is 5' 8' and you could probably fit someone 5' 6" or shorter behind her.
