There is no issue with the rear dampeners, the only potential "issue" would be not having enough travel in the adjustable spring perch in the rear to achieve your desired ride height. (There is no "coilover" in the rear, it's just a stand alone shock, and a spring that sits on a height-adjustable perch.)
You can search in some of the coilover threads, there was a guy with a LeMans blue X1 on KWV3s and his ride height was the highest possible in the rear and still pretty low.
