He just made adapters (see the two rings in the pics) for the front struts to fit into the larger holes in the X1 knuckles.

But from his ad, that's a set of standard E90 x drive KWs, sold with a small sleeve to be slid over each front strut to effectively widen them a hair.

Because I assumed they had been modfied at 1st to fit the E84. As I said, I'm just keepign my option open before deciding what to actually go for.
Think I am gonna go with a set of BC coilovers made for the X1 now, trying to sort a deal.
