I've had my X1 for over 6 months now, and it's been totally reliable, with no squeaks or rattles of note. Sunroof does not leak either. Space is average but versatile. It's really a 3 people car as I have my seat way back, even though I have average height of about 173cm. Boot is good. Go for it. Go for the diesels or new turbo petrols.
My only gripe is the slightly firm ride - I put this down to the runflats - had no choice to option standard tyres.
