I had an MRI of my lower back a few years back. No dye injection for my scan (or a later MRI of my heel). As said, it is pretty loud. I put in ear plugs and took a bit of a nap for 30-45min while it clunked and whirred away. It is pretty damn claustrophobic in the tube, so I just kept my eyes closed the entire time.
