My bluetooth audio works like yours. I think you have to be connected via USB for Apps to work. Kind of disappointing. The other thing that bothers me is that you can go through several menus to enable bluetooth audio streaming, but if you then connect the USB cable, like if you want to use the Pandora App, it disables bluetooth audio streaming so the next time you want to do bluetooth streaming you have to cycle through the menus again.
