I just hope we don't have to wait a full year after the X1 debuts. I think the new 3 comes out summer of 2012 as a 2013 while the X1 is a year earlier. I want the diesel, have a Clubman S (wife does) and don't want to go from 28-32 back to about 21-22mpg. Had two X3's and averaged about 17.5 around town and not going back to those type of numbers. Biggest issue I see is the transmission, X3 now has the 8 speed which helps mpg considerably but if the X1 has the 6 speed auto it won't be much better than the old X3 with the 2.8 liter.
